Hello I had surgery on 8/3/04 or should I say a revision from vbg to rny, the weight loss is slow but I have not been walking like I should... How is everyone else doing?

My surgery was Aug. 9th. I lost for the first couple of weeks then had the 2 week plateau from hell. I actually gained 6 pounds during that two weeks. Suddenly at the end of the 4th week it started coming off again. I haven't really been doing the amount of walking I should yet either. Patty

Hi, my surgery was 8/3/04 and I am feeling tired and a little beat up. I returned to work two weeks ago so that may be part of it. I puked twice but it was my fault, not chewing thoroughly and either too much fat or too much sweet (sardines in oil and did not drain and kiwi fruit, usually the only fruit I have had is applesauce). Had to ask the doc to put me back on celebrex yesterday but now I can walk more. I was taken off of my three blood pressure meds 3 days after surgery and at one month my pcp changed my asthma med to the lowest dose of flovent. My cpap even had to be adjusted down because I lost 50-59 pounds. I went from 409 to 350, but the past week went back up to 358. I am not worried though, my clothes are loose and my rings are slipping so my body is just taking a break. Well enough from me, I hope you all are doing well.

Hi Debra! I had my RNY on 08/03/04 also!!! I'm doing okay. In the 1st 2 weeks went from 257-235. Then plateaued for 2 weeks straight... NO WEIGHT LOST. For the past 2 weeks I've been losing like a pound every other day or so. As of this morning I'm down to 226, so a total weight loss of 31 pounds. It seems to be going REALLY slowly for me, but I can't complain... I can't remember the last time I lost this much weight anyways. I'm definitely NOT getting in the exercise like I should be doing. That would help my weightloss, I'm sure (not to mention prevent the flabbiness). I've only had trouble when I eat too fast or a little too much. Usually that happens if I'm side-tracked while I eat (like with my son or t.v. or just really hungry). I get to eat normal foods again starting next week. We'll see how that goes. How are YOU doing???? Dawn
