I'M WORRIED [DOWN 15 POUNDS]
I'M WORRIED I HAD SURGERY ON 8/30/04 AND I'M DOWN 15 POUNDS. BUT MY SCALE HAS NOT MOVED IN 4 DAYS. AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG. I WASN'T SURE IF TO MUCH EXCERCISE. OR I'M NOT EATING ENOUGH. ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS. I'M GETTING MY PROTEIN AND MORE THEN ENOUGH WATER. I HAVEN'T HAD TO GOOD OF A BM.ANY SUGGESTIONS. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE INPUT. TRACY
Tracy:
I stopped losing for an entire week in the second week, and now I have stopped again. Didn't lose at all in week 5, and haven't yet in week 6. Although I am doing everything I am supposed to be doing, the scale won't move...it's very disheartening.
I just have to take everyone's word for it, in the chatroom and here, that it will pick back up again once my body is finished adjusting. Since I am getting enough water, protein, and exercise, it's hard...and I can't seem to stay off the Scale, but I am trying to hang in there and not go nutso. Very hard some days. ;)
You're not alone, here's hoping we both start up again soon!

Hi Tracy,
I always read on here that people don't lose much during weeks 3 and 4. Hang in there, stick to your docs rules and it will come off. I will probably be going through the same thing very soon. Thank God I don't own a scale or I would be on it all the time too! You are doing great!

GET OFF THE SCALE!!!!!
Weigh yourself ONCE A WEEK!!!
You will go crazy staring at that scale. Your body is freaking out right now and it's gonna go up and down and sideways.
This is gradual and you need to just let it happen. If you are doing everything right...you don't have to worry. Try and get some juice in ya too. That will help with the BMs.

Hmmm, yeah. I had this same problem... I lost 22 pounds in like 2 weeks, and then NOTHING for 2 weeks. After that they started coming off again, little by little. Over the past 2 weeks I've lost 8 more pounds.
Everyone told me to up my exercise, up my water intake, and up my protein intake. It helped. Also, make sure to eat at least 3 times a day so your body doesn't think you're starving and try to hold on to the fat.
I also have trouble with BM's. Never been regular since the surgery... not constipated, but nothing really there. Dulcolax is a mild laxative that's a suppository so you don't have to worry about your pouch. It seems to help.
You're doing great! Just try to stay patient!

I agree with Melissa, stay off that scale, that must be nerve wrecking, I don't own a scale and don't plan on buying one either, I will stick to just weighing myself at my doctor's visits, that will be less nerve wrecking. Just keep this mind, this is a long process and its expected the results are different for everyone. Just focus on your ultimate goal and this time around next year you will see the difference and more.
Good luck to all!!
