Hi Diane! I am a 8/4/04 post op. I have done well considering the complications early on, but for the last 3 weeks, things have been going well. I really don't have any problems with the meat as long as I make sure it is moist enough and I chew enough. I did get some chicken stuck the 2nd time I ate meat and boy, that was not fun !! But ever since then I just make sure to add something like mayo or some other condiment to moisten it up. How is everything else going? How much have you lost so far?

I'm an 08/03/04 (figured one day difference wouldn't be a big deal)... I'm doing pretty well, but have also had trouble with meat. Everytime I eat it I get very burpy and wish I could throw up. So far I've only tried chicken and turkey... and a little tiny bite of pork. And I chew chew chew... but still, not a great experience. I've decided to get my protein from supplements (mostly) for now and try to tackle the meat thing in a couple of weeks again. Everything else is going okay. My Dr. recommended trying some dry crackers recently (adding to diet) and UGH, they were horrible in my pouch! I felt sooooo queasy afterwards. I've lost 30 pounds so far, how have you done??? I seem to be a slow loser, but I'm not getting too down on myself---- YET! Dawn

I am doing good with meat....as long as it's not hamburger. I've had steak..bbq and carne asada. I've also had sasauge...regular and hot links. I have also had really good luck with thin sliced deli meats...the low fat, low sodium kinds. I spread (lite) cream cheese on two slices and roll them up for easy snacks at work. Hope that helps you....feel free to email me anytime you like!! Good Luck on your WL and recovery!! ~Brandi 255/244/227/213
