How about some soups, I personally like chilli, or a stew. These don't have alot of meat in them or you can make a veggie soup or veggie stew. During my first three weeks out I ate creamed soups, yogurt and pudding. Patty

My two pureed favorites were Newman's Own Basil and Tomato Spaghetti Sauce pureed with chicken and ricotta cheese and a little bit of shredded mozzarella melted on top; the other was vegetarian refried beans pureed with a little mild salsa. For both of these, I also added about a half scoop of unflavored protein powder to boost my protein intake.

Tracy, Fish but remember to chew, chew, chew. Canned ham, canned tuna, canned salmon, canned chicken. Put a little mayo on a couple of ounces, cover with a little shredded cheese and microwave for a few seconds. Then be sure to eat very SLOWLY. Cheese is a good source of protein.

Hi let me add peanut butter as well. Just a teaspoon and eat it slowly, but it is a source of protein as well. Denise

I was following the book regarding pureed/full liquid diet sample & it mentioned tomato juice...so I drank V8 w.no problem....I called my doctors office today & they said big no-no on tomato juice or soup cuz to acidic for stomach right now....I did advise them of it being part of the "menu" in the book....hmm ohh well, have until post op tomorrow (basically 11-days out by then) so we shall see what can do tomorrow. I can tell you that I am definately looking forward to "soft foods"
