with the holiday weekend, I went to a BBQ in which they had burgers and hot dogs....they literally called to me and I gave in. I went over, prepared myself a hotdog with ketchup and mustard, and took a bite. I *****ewed, savoured and loved it...*feeling guilty*...BUT, i then spit it out after just chewing (did not swallow it).... I'm bad...I wasn't particularly "hungry", just missed the chewing, the texture, the feeling and savouring, and being bad by chewing and spitting out took the edge off. Has any of you done that? I know, i know, I'm bad

Oh, you're good... I don't know if I could have spit it out. I miss chewing so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And food... man, there have been so many times when I have almost just done it... taken a French fry off of someone else's plate (my kids, not total strangers!) because I feel like I don't know if I can do this... I LIKE food. I'm afraid I'll miss it too much. Just thinking about your hotdog is making my mouth water.

I did a bad thing too, my husband was eating a pepperoni stick and I asked him for the tip and sucked on it a bit then tossed it out. Patty

Norman, you're not bad- you're human. I chewed and spit out something thatI knewwould make me sick. Too bad it wasn't BBQ. It was chicken & Noodle soup and I ate the noodles toofast. That was no fun. I really haven't had much desire for 'real' food yet, but if I do, I might just use your trick. I'll let you know. Barbara

I am so glad I am not the only one who has had this thought, although I haven't tried it yet. I mean, as long as it doesn't get into your stomach, how bad can it be? Probably not the best way to think, though....

I did that today. I made my two year old eggs and toast for breakfast. The toast was calling my name...I ended up taking a small bite and chewed it really well, but then chickened out of swallowing it, so I spit it out. I am really starting to crave eating a "normal" meal. Joy

I did that with some steak my fiance seasoned really well, in Carnie WIlson's book, "I'm still Hungry" she gives that as a tip to not eat the wrong foods. Chew and spit out or if u order dessert, take a bite or two and pour salt on the rest. That's a good JAime
