8/30's -- 1wk post op!
Can you believe it, one week post op today...yikes! I've been doing better as the days go by, but definitely not at 100% yet. I'm on a steady liquid diet for the next 2 weeks, can't wait till I can CHEW SOMETHING!
I had a few questions for all of you:
1) How many pounds have you dropped since day of surgery?
2) still on pain meds?
3) favorite protein source thus far? (only yummy recommendations please)
4) started exercise yet?
5) the popular: rate your pain from 1-10.
My answer's:
1) -20lbs
2) nope, mine were big pills that made me nauseous even after breaking them down...I'd rather deal with the pain/soreness than eat those puppies.
3) Protein Delite (strawberry white chocolate flavor) + Lactaid/non-fat milk.
Adding lactaid/non-fat milk instead of water to any protein powders instead of water has been a life saver.
4) nope....should I?
5) I would say a 4...still have some soreness, which I feel worse when I lay down straight or get up. Pushing a pillow against my tummy as I sleep on my side has helped. Getting better everyday though.
Your turn Keep in touch fellow 8/30'ers.
Feel better,
Norma G.
1) How many pounds have you dropped since day of surgery? I will not know until Fri when I see my surgeon for my first preop visit.
2) still on pain meds? Yes, only one pill, instead of two
3) favorite protein source thus far? Do not start protein until Friday - docs orders.
4) started exercise yet? try to walk everyday.
5) the popular: rate your pain from 1-10. 6-7

Okay 10 days post op.
1) -24 lbs
2) I was prescribed liquids. I've only used them a few times.
3) American Whey + Flavored soy milks. Rich and creamy.
4) Walking - I like across the street from a park.
5) I'd say 1-2. And that's because the doc took out the drain today.
Overall things seem to be going very well.
Keep Pushing Forward. Pat
