Had surgery on 8/23. Was 262 the lowest I've been is 249.5. Today I was 251.5. I am so frustrated. What if I don't lose enough weight?

It's very normal for your weight to fluctuate, even sometimes going up a little. During my second week post op I checked my weight every day and saw this happen for myself. Over a few days, I was down three or four pounds, then up a pound or two and then down like five or six pounds overnight. Since then, I've read on these boards to only check your weight once a week and I think that's sound advice. If you follow your eating rules and getting your fluids and protein in you will lose the weight. Put the scale away!

My surgery was on 8/4. At about 2.5 weeks out, I had lost 20 lbs. and hit a plateau. I stepped up my protein and water, and started working out. To my amazement, I GAINED 2 lbs!!! To keep from freaking out, I pulled out the tape measure and measured my waist. That was a relief. I realized I was gaining muscle weight and not fat. I would suggest measuring yourself to see how you're doing. Chances are, you've gained muscle mass and not fat. Good Luck! Foxy Baby Diva -24 lbs.

This is so normal. I experienced the same thing. Don't worry though, I don't think there's ever been someone who's only lost 12 pounds on this... it's just our bodies need time to re-coup... you'll lose, just have some patience with it (or try to), the weight WILL come off! Dawn
