I'm just barely 3 weeks PO and have developed a bad rash where my belly sags. It came out of nowhere. It's like a bad diaper rash. I have taken showers to keep the area clean, tried powder (bad move) and tried Nystatin. Has anyone had similar problems and had come up with solutions?? Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Yes, I had the same problem. I have a prescription of Mycolog cream, or I heard you could try neosporin. It did go away in a few days. Good Luck. Sue

Barbara...if you are thinking down the road a ways, go to your doctor and have them document it. This can sometimes be useful in getting insurance to pay for reconstructive surgery! take care!

Hi Barbara, It sounds like a yeast infection. I also have this problem but I have been dealing with it for more than 2 years now. The best way to avoid this is by keeping the area dry, which is difficult to do I know. I used to get a prescription cream for it from my doc, but he has since given me a "recipe" for the prescription. I combine equal amounts of generic antifungal cream (usually found by treatments for foot conditions) and generic 1% hydrocortisone cream. Wash the area with soap and water and dry. Apply this mixture liberally over the infected area. I do this a couple of times the first day and maybe once or twice the second day and it's usually gone by the third day. If it's not itchy, I don't add the hydrocortisone cream. Definitely make sure that your doc sees it and documents it because if you choose to have plastic surgery down the line it may help in getting insurance approval. Good luck with everything! Shelly

When I get a rash like that, I use Balmex (diaper rash cream) I have tried the generic form but it did not work. Hope that helps.
