Hey, I am just curious I am about a week and a half out and I feel a pulling and alot of pain sensations when I stand or walk. I am nervous to hear people saying they are almost without any pain. Is that with the help of pain meds? Because I am not taking any. They made me sleep all day. One side of my incision is slightly bruised looking and a little swollen. It is really tender to the touch and pulls alot.

My "pulling" sensation just went away a few days ago. I was one and a half weeks post op. I have a huge bruise next to my belly button where there is an insicion. I stopped taking the pain meds, too. Now my problem is leg cramps and a pinched nerve in my heel. I can barely hobble around the house. I am so ready to feel normal again. Hope you're feeling better soon, too!!! *~Amber~*

Hi Shelly, Had open RNY on the 23rd also. I have had a pulling sensation at the top and bottom of my incision, but Dr. said that is just partof the healing inside. I went to see him yesterday and have lost 23 lbs. couldnt believe it. Just ride it out and everything wil be ok. Good luck, Becky

Hi Shelli: I drive for a living and I find that after I've been driving a couple of hours I get all kinds of pulls and kinks when I get out. I also get the odd tinges of pain around my incision. It's just part of the healing process of our tissues inside that. I wouldn't let it stress you. Patty

Hi Shelli, I'm 3 weeks post op. I had a lap RNY. I had a lot of the pain/pulling sensation and tenderness you describe up until just a couple of days ago. Today I noticed for the first time that the bruising is almost gone too. I checked with the doctor and he said it's very normal because of all the internal stitches that they pulled tight in that area. I found mine hurt the worst when I overdid it on reaching, stretching and moving around too much. If you're having the pain pretty much all the time, you could check with your doctor and see if he could give you a less sedating pain med. Good luck to you!

Shelli, I am 3.5 weeks out and this has stopped. I am wishing you luck, this is a day to day process is it not? Prayers to you. Denise
