Went for my one week post-op today with Dr. Houston (he really is wonderful). I had lost 16 pounds. He said I was doing great. I have no pain except that stupid TMJ thing is still bothering me. Anyway I have been riding my exercise bike for 30 minutes every night (it's a recumbent bike-I highly recommend; much better than the upright ones). I can restart my CPAP tonight. Can go swimming on Saturday. Have not had ANY medication for Blood sugar since pre-op, only 1 lasix the day after I came home but am still having to take potassium supplements. Hate the protein drinks but will survive them for another week. Today was rough making a trip 360 miles round trip to see the doc. Didn't take the right food/drink with me so I was starving by the time I got home. God is Great God is Good. I thank Him so for His goodness and mercy to me throughout this journey. Great Job Jeannette How soon after op did you start exercising. I am a 30th date and I still feel a pull on my upper left side. Walking around the house is all I have managed.

I started exercising on my bike 6 days post-op. It really is a great exercise bike. I like the recumbent style much better than the upright. You sit in a regular chair with handles so you don't have to worrry about backache and sore bottom. I still have that gas pain in my left shoulder but my real problem is the TMJ/"locked jaw" I had from surgery. It isn't a bit better. If it wasn't for it I could probably run a marathon! (Sorry, overexaggerating quite a bit). You will get better with each passing day. May God Bless you on your journey. Jeanette (8/25/04 -16lbs)

I thought I was the only one with that pesky pain in my shoulder! My doc said it was from the air they used to blow me up for surgery! Joy
