1 week today after surgery.

I had the lap on 082404. I stayed in the hospital for 4 days due to over swelling and retaining water. I am home now and all is good. Except for 1 slight problem. I read where everyone has dropped anywhere from 8 lbs to 22 lbs. My scale hasn't moved. Its the same as when I went into the hospital. I don't know if its my scale or I am doing something wrong. Food wise, one can't really mess with that because you can only eat so much. I have not dumped or vomited or anything like that. Am I doing something wrong or maybe I am just inpatient. I dont know. I will see my doctor on 090804. Guess we will see what his scale says.

I am 8 days post op and just taday saw some weight loss..i have lost 7 lbs...but myDr told me that at 3 weeks post op is when you usually see the biggest loss....you may still hae alot of fluids left over from the IV's yet especially if you were already having a problem wioth this to begin with!! Hang in there..it will happen...in the mean time look for small changes for an example i can finally get my wedding rings back on after 3 years of not being able to...sometimes the little victories can feel like big ones!!! barb

You probably had quite a weigh gain in the hospital from all the fluids and have lost that without realizing it. Don't worry suddenly you will see the scale start dropping and when it does for me its usually nothing for a few days then about 3 pounds. Good luck Patty
