I am still after three weeks sleeping on the lazy boy. I would have thought by now that I could get comfy in the bed. I tried last night again and can't sleep on either side yet. Anyone else having this problem? Patty

Still in the Lazy Boy here too!!! I think it is more of fear of opening the incision line for me. I did try to lay down one day and whoa...knew that was a bad idea. I did lay down on the bed while talking on the phone today and did much better. However, I will stick with the lazy boy until I am sure the incision will not open. Tab

I couldnt lie in bed until after my tube was removed. I am a side sleeper, and I was able to lie in bed for 3 hours last night. Except for that, I have been in my lazy boy also. We were cut up pretty good inside, so I guess we have to heal. The gravity pulling on my belly is what hurts when I am in bed, so we will have to stay in our recliners for a while. Good luck. Sue

Well, you can rent one. But, although I wish I had one, I did fine without it. Most of my pain came from the incision on my left side. My surgeon told me that that incision is the one they put the stapler in through. He said that there are deep stitches in there, and that they pull and that's what causes the pain. I was able to get comfortable in bed by putting a big fat pillow between my knees, and putting another one, folded in half to make it taller, under my upper arm, as I lay on my side. Turning over was still hard, because of the pulling sensation, but it got better each night. And, I saved my pain killer for bed time. I didn't really need it during the day, but it helped me to sleep. Don't worry, you will get through it! Patience

Count me in on the recliner also. Although at 2 1/2 weeks I can sleep about 1/2 the night in the bed on my sides. The other 1/2 back to the recliner. I guess if I didn't haveone I'd get lots of pillows to support my back and try to sleep that way.

Patty, You need mega pillows. I could not tolerate the ole lazy boy but 2 days and then I wanted my bed. I have pillows on each side of me. 1 under my head, shoulders and back and under my knees. I too had open and it got infected and really opened up. So, this really helped. I slept on my side by kind of tucking the pillows under by back and stomach when I turned. This worked for me and hope it helps you. Each week I got better and got rid of a pillow. I am down to 2 now. My hubby is happy he says he finally can see me in the bed and when he reaches out to touch me he can touch me instead of a pillow. Prayers are with you for a speedy recovery. Dona

I am a side sleeper and am having pain turning in bed and laying on my side. I use a pillow stuffed against my stomach and this seems to help until I have to turn again. I use the pain meds only at night to help me fall asleep. My poor husband does't get any sleep though cause I have to use him to turn. I am only one week out. Try using pillows to support wherever you need. Good luck! Sherrie
