Out of hospital again!!!

Well I had my wls on the 16th and was doing great. On the 24th hubby had to rush me to hospital. Doc opened me all the way up and said I had a major wound infection. So on the 26th the infection was gone they put in a vac that I have to go to hospital every other day to have the sponges and tubes replaced (and boy does it hurt). Hopefully that will be the last of the problems. They released me on the 26th and now I am fighting to keep my water. I am so very tired. Has anyone had this little vac before?? How long do you have to have it on? Stephanie

STEPHANIE: I HATE TO HEAR ABOUT YOU HAVING TO RETURN TO THE HOSPITAL. WE SHARE THE SAME DATE! DID YOU HAVE OPEN OR LAP RNY? WELL, AT LEAST THEY FOUND THE PROBLEM AND ARE MAKING YOU THE HEALTHIEST POSSIBLE TO BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY! YOU ARE ONE TOUGH LADY!!!!! JACQUE

I am so sorry to hear you are having problems. I have not had the vac but have had patients who have had the vac. They are very succcessful. However, unable to even guess at a time as everybody is different. Keep with the regimen and maybe even consider taking a dose of pain med before the changes to make them more comfortable if you aren't already.
