I GOT WHAT I ASKED FOR
WELL HERE I AM, 15 DAYS POST OP, I AM FINALLY ON THE LOSING SIDE.
I GOT WHAT I ASKED FOR. I KEEP REPEATING THIS TO MYSELF EVERY TIME I HAVE A PAIN, OR WHEN I CAN'T BEND OVER, OR WHEN I AM DRINKING MY FOURTH GLASS OF BROTH FOR THE DAY. DONT GET ME WRONG, I AM STILL THRILLED WITH MY DECESION, AND I WOULD DO IT AGAIN, I JUST CANT WAIT UNTIL I START TO FEEL NORMAL. I AM USUALLY THE PERSON WHO DOES A MILLION THINGS A DAY, NOW I CAN BEARLY DO 20! MY BIGGEST PROBLEM RIGHT NOW IS A PAIN I AM HAVING. I HAD A LAP RNY, THE PAIN IS 4 INCHES LEFT OF MY BELLY BUTTON AND 4 INCHES BELOW MY MAIN INCISION, IT HURTS WHEN I MOVE, BEND COUGH, ETC. I WENT TO MY DOC 8/26/04 AND HE SAID IT IS A MUSCLE THAT WAS CUT DURING SURGERY AND WOULD TAKE A WHILE TO HEAL, THAT SEEMS ODD BECAUSE IT IS NOT NEAR THE INCISION. I AM A LITTLE WORRIED.
I HAVE LOST 28 POUNDS, ALTHOUGH I REALLY DON'T SEE IT, OR SHOULD I SAY I DON'T SEE WHERE IT WAS! I WISH I HAD TAKEN MY MEASURMENTS I GUESS I SOULD DO THAT NOW!
I KNOW GOD IS WITH ME AND DIRECTING ME THROUGH ALL OF THIS, AND THIS TOO SHALL PASS ( I JUST HOPE IT PASSES SOON!)
oh, my favorite saying...this too shall pass!! I live by it!
You can have pain anywhere the probe goes in for surgery. THe wound was just the entrance, that thing went all over your insides. So, pain can creep up in wierd places. Of course, any unusual pain, call the doc to be sure as you did!
I have wierd pains that just come on. The only way I could describe them to my mom tonight was (sorry guys) when it is that time of the month and you get that crampy feeling with an occasional twinge, well, move that up about 5 inches and that is where it is.
Odd, but apparently normal.
Keep in touch!

Hi Stephanie! My surgeon told me that the incision to the left of my belly button was the one they put the stapler in through. So, the pain down in deep is where they had to stitch up the inner muscle after making the hole big enough for the stapler. That is why it is not right below the incision; the stapler went in at an angle. Anyway, I am almost four weeks out, and that pain is totally gone now. So, hang in there!
