Angel? Surgery Tuesday...

I will have my surgery Tuesday, August 31st. My husband and I went out tonight to a nice dinner and a movie (Bourne Supremecy... pretty good... and gotta love Matt Damon!) I'm nervous, but I'm sort of at the point where I realize that there's nothing I can do about any of it: it will either go well or it won't, and at this point, I can't control it. I HATE that. How does one get an angel and what does that person do?

Hi Kim- I didn't technically have an angel assigned. Mine ended up being someone that I work with that had the same surgeon. She went to the hospital with me and stayed by my side until I took my first walk. Then she posted here on how I was doing. There are some awesome angels out there who help and guide you through the pre-op phase, let you ask questions, vent, and then they let us know you are ok and out of surgery. After surgery they then serve as post op help. They are truly remarkable. But, if you don't have one, don't fret, we will be here for you and help you any way we can!! Promise!! Tabitha

I can be your angel. I will think of you and your family, pray for all to go well and keep you and your loved ones safe. I never got an Angel but I got alot of happy emails. It will feel like you have no controll but after you step on those scales and see yourself melting, you will realize how worth all of the pain it is. Good luck and I will think and pray for you and yours on Tuesday. Michelle

Sounds like a nice evening out. Best wishes on your surgery and for a speedy recovery. An angel is someone who informs everyone how your surgery went and who you can look to for guidance and support along the way. Patty
