I am back!!!! Yes I was nervious going to Mexico but I did a lot of research and this was what I could afford. I was to the piont I'm going to die fat or trying to lose it. Everything went well, everyone was nice and concerned about how I was doing and if I understood what would be happening. I only have upper gas pain and upper sholders are sore(because using upper back to get up) Does this type of pain sound right??(gas)

Michelle, When I first got hom from the hospital, all I did was burp and fart! With us having so little room now, when you suck in air when you drink, it has no place else to go but back up. Mine gets really painful. I've found though that I do better drinking from a glass or a mug then drinking from a bottle of water. For some reason when i drink from the bottle I always suck in too much air and I am miserable for 10 minutes before I can take another sip. I've tried to deliberately hold my breath when I drink and it does help the gas pains some. Good Luck!!!! Leland Lap RNY 08/04/04 283/250.5/150

The doctors told me its trapped gas from the surgery and that my body will absord this. Did you have that type of gas pain too? Since I had this done in Mexico, I want to make sure I am having the right pain. You just had surgery, congrats!!!! How long did it take you to recover and what did you eat the first two weeks? Glad to hear that you are home and on the road to recovery. I had a sore shoulder for quite awhile. I told the surgeon and he didn't seem concerned. I also had and still have gas pains on and off. Patty 328/304/164

I had terrible gas pains for 3 days post-op and the BEST thing I found to help (besides walking a lot) was a heating pad right where it hurt. It seemed that the gas moved down every day....anyway, I know it hurts right now but you will wake up every morning feeling better than the previous day! Good luck and I HTH!
