A big Thank-You to all of you for your throughtfullness and prayers during my hospital stay and my journey home. It's been a long and rough 20 days but I think I can finally say that the worst is behind me (or I sure do hope so), I was in the hospital for 6 days and though I can say that the experience wasn't that bad, I'm glad to be home. I'm returning to work on tomorrow, (8/24/04) and I think I'll be fine, I did a trial run today for a couple of hours and it went well so tomorrow should be okay. I feel fine, still very sore, bloated, swollen and weak. I just can't seem to get my energy back, I'm taking the supplements but I can't seem to get in enough food. I do well with the water, meal replacement shakes and I've tried the blender with the proteins such as chickhen, turkey and fish but can't seem to get them down. Help. My weight loss is about 23 lbs. and I haven't been faithful with exercise, just haven't had the energy. I hope all of this will get better as I get back into the work scene. Again thanks and continue to pray for me. Hat Box Thanks, the pillow was just what I needed for the long ride home. I will try to update weekly. God's Speed.

Hi Edna! You and I have the same anniversary. I also was feeling tired, sleepy and lethargic. Then I discovered Isopure (I sound like a commercial!) 40 grams of protein per bottle, and it goes down like Crystal Lite. I feel much better now that I have upped my protein. I also ordered some protein shakes from bariatriceating.com, but they have a little less protein. Protein is the trick though! I am wrestling with gas BAD! Ouch! Tomorrow I am going to buy some anti-gas meds and start experimenting. Maybe even some bean-o. I am still tired by the end of the day, but I have been back to work for about a week, and I am hanging in there. Best of luck to you!!!!! Patience

I too had surgery 8/3. I find my self getting tired by the end of the day. I did not get all my protein in yesterday(shakes) and today I am beat. I also walked around the block and did shopping in Publix. I admire you, going back to work. I do not work, but do not think I could make that trip at this time. Could be diffenence in age also, I am 64. Did take my car to shop, a/c is not putting out. Was so very hot. When I retured home, I was very light headed. The Florida heat. So just take it easy. If work does not go well, work half day. Good luck to you. Marla

Hi Edna I am also the same anniversay and feeling the same way I admire you going back to work already I am trying to get my doc to extend beyond 6 weeks. I do not think I could go now I too am tired by end of day and yesterday I spent day 630 am to 1200 am last night up and gtting things done. Today I payed dearly very sore and got children off to school and went back to bed until 200 pm and I still was wiped out. I think protein is the key but I am still on just full liquid and I cannot do the protein drinks they make me sick Well Good Luck to you and let us know how you do. Love and hugs Brenda
