Hello fellow august 4th post-oppers. Just thought I'd see how everyone is doing. I haven't had much chance to post before now as my computer is upstairs and I've been mostly staying on the first floor til a few days ago. I had a lap rny done, everything went pretty well. the first week was rough but I'm very thankful that my husband took a week off of work to help me out with the kids ( ages 6,11 mos ) I'm doing pretty good now but am struggling to get in my 46 ounces of fluids and 60 grams of protein - in actuality i'm getting about 30 fluids/45 protein. I've lost 16 pounds but some of that was from my 1 week pre-op liquid diet. I've been at a stand still for about 5 days now, but i'm due for my period any second, so that's probably the hold up. I'm on pureed diet and will be for another two weeks when I see the dietican again. I haven't been naughty, haven't dumped yet- thank goodness but I did have a painful episode from drinking my 8 oz. s/f Carnation instant break. too fast. REALLY REALLY sharp pain in my upper gut area ( pouch ) and it went thru to my back and sort of took my breath away. I thought I might have to go to the ER but once I threw up about 15 mins into it, I felt alot better I took an extra prevacid as the RN suggested on the phone. I've been taking my beverages really s-l-o-w since then. I'm driving again and have been on a few shopping trips. I finally know what head hunger is!!!! my tummy says full, but my old habits say, time to snack!! It's been really hard smelling what my family is eating/ cooking I long to actually chew some real food, but that will come soon enough, well, i've rambled enough here, I hope you're all doing good too, hope to hear how everyone else is doing from aug. 4th!!! Hi Sue! Glad you are doing well. I'm also an 8/4 postopper. Had an open RNY. Went for my 2 week checkup today and am also down 16 pounds. Am on a pureed diet as of today, thank God! My only real complaint is that I have very little energy or ambition. My doc requires 64oz of fluid and 70grms of protein. Still have to drink a protein shake a day in order to get all of it in. Seems like I'm eating or drinking all day long. I am going to try the treadmill tomorrow and see how I do. Keep up the good work, we will do just fine. Everyone at the support groups says to just give it a little time. Take care and keep in touch! Patty M.

Hi Sue! I too had surgery Aug. 4th. I am doing ok. Some days are better than others. I have a problem getting all my liquids in, but I am getting most of them in and worker harder every day. I know what you mean about the head hunger. I am never really hungery, but want food that I used to have, just because. I am down exactly 20lbs today. It is exciting see it on the scale! I can't wait to be down even more! Good luck to you and keep in touch on how you are doing!

As of today, I'm down 21.5 lbs. I have had a rough time finding a protein drink that I can handle and have figured out that I have to mix 2 parts liquid with one part protein to be able to drink it. I ordered some Unjury and am hoping my big containers come in today. I tried a sample of the unflavored and it mixed very nicely with my Crystal Light and also some of my soft foods. Foxy Baby Diva
