help!! 6 days post op. severe pain!!!

can anyone help me? i am 6 days post op open r-n-y. i have severe stabbing pain well below my binder on right side. it is black and blue. my doc has upped my pain meds but nothing has worked. help 111

I am sorry to hear you are in so much pain. I wish I could give you some advice, but I'm not sure what it could be. I would suggest though maybe trying out the knowledge of some of the older post ops on the main board. They are a wealth of information and help. Patty

personally, I don't think you should be in SEVERE pain this many days post-op....depending upon what surgery you had done and any complications....verify this with your surgeon........If it were me, I would ask to be seen to rule out any complications...especially if additional pain meds are not helping. i am so happy to report that the pain has eased up quite a bit. i have not had any pain meds since 7 am today. thanks for all your replies and caring. it has really helped me get through this.
