Prior to surgery I had lost weight and my shorts (with a waistband and button) were big. I thought these would be fine since they were so loose. Besides, I didn't want to waste $ on anything that would be big so quickly! With the bloating from the surgery, the shorts couldn't be closed and were very uncomfortable -- if I had to do it over again, I definitely would have taken some oversized stretchy shorts for the trip home!
