1 week out today

I am one week post-op today. Still have some pain in the main incision and for some reason in my back in the spot as my incision is on the front. Doc said not to worry unless other symptoms arise. Overall I feel great - am off of my insulin pump - off of diabetes meds altogether for a little while and maybe permanently if the blood sugars continue to fall! I am so excited about that. Down about 18 pounds from what I weighed when I got home from the hospital and about 13 pounds from pre-op stage! I can hardly believe it. Best decision I have ever made for myself.

WOW! I was 291 last Sunday and today I was 278, so I have lost 13 since surgery too! Have you lost 18 since you came home from the hospital? That is a ton! Or did you misprint? Wow, so 18 lbs in one week? WOW!

Well, I think I actually weighed 279 or 280 when I went into the hospital and came home at 285.5 - I am guessing from 2 days on i.v's, so I am really trying not to count those 5 or 6 pounds. Gosh - sounds like you are doing terrific too!

Wait, we are almost at the same weight. How tall are you? I am 5'3 and currently weight 278 Starting weihgt was 291! Yipee! I was also 284.5 when I came home from the hospital! How much do you weigh now?

Good to hear that yu are home and on the road to recovery. I can't wait to get the staples out, thats what bothering me the most now. It's great how fast the scales go down. I had mine on the 9th and am down 18 pounds now also. Haven't weighed in the last two days though, I'm trying not to weigh myself so much. Patty
