Sheri's post gave me an idea for a poll for all us new post ops. How much protien are you required to take a day, what kind, and what do you mix it with? Patty

I have to have atleast 50g a day of protein. I guess I will be using protein drinks and adding unflavored powder to puddings and mashed potatoes. *~Amber~*

My nutritionist says 20 - 25 g's a day of protien, it doesn't sound like enough to me. Hope she didn't make a boo boo. Patty

I am required 6 serving a day. I mix mine with soy milk and have added to pudding and soups. Marla

Must be hard to get the protien into 6 servings. I just add all of mine at one time to a crystal lite drink. Patty

I am still pre op for 2 more weeks and my doc said 60-70g of protein. I noticed a lot of you had waaay smaller amounts...hmm...Well, I guess it can't hurt if I'm taking more, but all my documentation and nutritionist info said 60-70g... best regards, norma g.

I think the more protien the better. It helps protect our muscles while we are eating so little. I am just baffled as to why mine is so low. Patty
