Hope everyone is doing well. I had my surgery 8/9/04 I am struggling with getting everything in the water can take in about 32 ounces and 2 five ounces protein shakes unsweetened applesauce cottage cheese. Yesterday my sisters brought me a small mash potatoes with gravy and I ate about 1/2 of it tasted so good but...... I really need to find a good source of protein because the powder I have tastes horrid and it is unflavored. No liquid vitamins ordered only Flintstones chewable complete i will have a lot of questions for the dietitian on my first visit post op Wednesday. I am really tired and sleep more than 10 hours a day

Hi Patricia, I am doing very well with food .. water not getting it all in. But I'm also not trying my hardest. I can get in 32oz on a good day. Nowhere near the 64+ my doctor wants. I am eating vegetables, chicken, turkey, cheese, crackers, tortillas, applesauce, beans, soups (not the cream kind), protein shakes, soy milk (I think it makes me dump). I take chewable bariatric vitamins, they are good, chocolate flavor and fruit flavor.. but the iron almost made me throw up.. it tasted like dog food smells. Angelina 08/06/04

Your Dr. starts you pretty fast on food. Im supposed to be on this creamed soup and pudding thing for 3 weeks. Although I feel I could eat something more solid, see how it goes after I see him friday. Patty

My Dr. was quick to start me on food. Before I was even a week out he had me eating the crackers, oatmeal, soup, beans and cheese, mashed potatoes.. and he started me on meat at 10 days. Other than the meat he told me to keep it moist and mushy if it fits that category it's okay.. well and you not fatty or sweet. Angelina

I drink it at night too, keep my water bottle beside me on the night stand all night. Sounds like alot of people take flintstones, I wish my nutrionist would have recommended that. I have one shelf in my cupboard just dedicated to all the bottles of liquid vitamins I will need for the next 8 weeks, looks like a pharmacy in there. Patty
