Surgery date set, time travels more slowly?

My surgery date has been set for August 27. I begin my re-op labs, physical and physician appointments next week. Time appears to have stopped now. Is this common? I have 17 days to go, for my new life.

Terrie, yes it's normal to feel like time is standing still. I know the feeling well I just try and keep busy. Good luck on your journey to the losing side....God Bless

Time seems to slow down as soon as you have a date and then bam it is almost here. Hang in there, Christie

Hi Terrie- Time slowed for a little while for me in June/July...now it is a freight train coming to pick me up in one week!! It won't be long....17 days until the rest of your life!! Tab

Hi Teri, My surgery date is the 25th and the days couldn't go any slower. I am tryng to keep busy. But, there is only so much you can do. It also doesn't help when everyone keeps asking you when your surgery is. I wish you the best of luck. You will be in my prayers. Live each day to the fulliest! Morningjoy

Hi I am 6 days post-op I feel great! I lap Rny. I was in surgery for almost 4 hours. I guess my anotomy was a challange. If my surgeon would have not been as experienced my lap RNY I would have ended with the open RNY.. It is so important to to have a great surgeon in this spicilized feild.Don't settle for 2nd best. What I did when I was waiting to keep busy was, I shopped for protein bars, bought new undies. got a peicure, therapy, stocked up on things I woulnt be able to get after surgey. Bought a great book: Before and After.(Go to bariatriceating.com) I tryed the recipies in it and shoped for the things I would need to have on hand. So for me the time flew by. I think my working helped to.Now I am loving life, starting over at 40(will be 41 on 8/31). I know you all will be fine have postive thoughts, There wont be much pain at all. thay keep you very comfortable because thay want you up and around very quickly.
