Are we crazy???

My wife and I are having surgery on he same day (August 16th). We are both having a lap-RNY by the same Doctor, one right after the other. (I'm first, because the doctor does all his cases by order of who weighs the most) We have our two best friends who are taking turns staying with us for the first week, and our 18 year old daughter is taking the week off work, so we are not worried about suport at home. My only worry is something happening to one of us in surgery, and the other one not being available to be there. Our doctor said he has done spouses on the same day 3 time before, and as long as there is sufficient support at home (which he verifies) he thinks its a good idea, as we will have someone to lean on who is going through the same thing at the same time. So, are we cray???

You guys are not crazy at all. It's naturel to feel scared for your SO but remember that you both have to be strong for one another. Stay focsed and belive that everything will be fine and it more then likely will. Take care and good luck. AC

John, Not crazy, at all. Having this surgery together will be a bonding exp for you both and wow the same day. Glad you have all the help you need once you two get home. I keep reading the 1st week is rough but after that for most its only gets better and better. Good luck to you both! Chatty

I think that is just wonderful. It's so nice that you will both be able to share this experience together and enjoy learning how to deal with the ups and downs of it together. I wish my husband and I could have done this. Patty
