everyone done with pre-op testing?
I had mine July 20th. I had a blood test, chest xray and ekg. I met with the internist, nurse and anesthetist. The Dietician was supposed to meet with me but she got side tracked and said she would see me the day after my surgery. Took a whole day, I was there from 11 am till 530, lots of sitting and waiting.

Hello Everyone!
I have not had my pre-op tests yet, I was supposed to have the endoscopy yesterday, but got cancelled due to Dr. had a family illness and had to leave state. I am due for my blood work, venous doppler(ultrasound of legs) and breathing test the week before surg. But next week I have to have major oral surgery and then a sleep study 2 days later! I still have to get another appointment for my scope. The one I am looking least forward to is the ABG, I don"t know if I'll be able to handle them sticking a needle in my artery..........
Good luck and God Bless,Natalie
I was at St. Luke's for 5 hours getting all of my pre-op tests. They included bloodwork, ultrasound, upper GI, chest x-ray, ecg, etc. I also had to get cardiac clearance from a cardiologist (ekg). It came back abnormal, so she scheduled me for a stress test. I had that 2 days later, but did not go back to the cardiologist until a week later. Thankfully, everything was fine so I got a clearance.
This is the only thing that might hold up the surgery date if you don't get everything done in time or have to have additional testing.
had mine done today (surgery date 8/10) got there 1/2 hr early...big waste of time....should have stayed home a drank another cup of coffee! lets see, got there 10am for 1030 appt. got called at 11am for paperwork (they had to re-sticker everything as they listed me as a male) and about 1130 did chest xray then by 12 had blood work (alot of it) and ekg by the same girl. then a nurse came in had me sign and answer a bunch of stuff and of course the dreaded weigh in. she gave me this "thingy" to bring back the day of surgery that you blow into. she gave me full instructions including what time my procedure would be. then the PA came in and was she funny! she asks me "why are u having this procedure?" i said "are u kidding?" she said "do u think you are obese?" i said "are u blind?" she said "i cant diagnos u, i am not your dr, and i have to ask u these questions." holy $#@! can u believe that! all in all i was out by 1215. lots of waiting..#1 thing to bring with u.........patience! good luck!
