Surgery on Monday, so worried. NOT!
Ok. I know we are all anxious and nervous about our upcoming surgery. So here is what I do:
My biggest rule: NO NEGATIVE SELF TALK ALLOWED. Not even negative disguised as positive. ie: I am going to get up and walk right away, EVEN THOUGH IT IS GONNA HURT. (Also, that damn 'advanced directive or living will' they ask about. My positive answer to that? Hell no. I want every measure taken to keep me alive. I feel much better about that answer, than signing permission to starve or unplug me to death. LOL)
I have also been doing some transcendental meditation and visualization. I believe our minds are incredibly powerful.
It was funny, today in pre-op, while waiting for phlebotomy to arrive, the pre-op nurse was making conversation and asked if I was scared or excited about my surgery. Well, all I could think of was that I was much more worried about the blood draw than the surgery! It was true, too.
I am so excited for all of us! I will be back on the board here as soon as I am able! See you here!

You have the best attitude!!! I think I'm gonna take your philosophy and be happy. My surgery is scheduled for next Friday - Aug 6th. I just found out on Wednesday, so I haven't had much time to get nervous yet. Anyway, I just wanted to say congratulations and good luck. I hope all goes well. Please post and let us know when you are able.
