AWWW Velvet Well that sucks. That is what happened to me but at least they didn't dangle a surgery date in front of me. I ended up going to Weigh****chers as a back up. I didn't want any surprises and submitted the Weigh****chers card also when the time came. Just a few words of encouragement. Try to use this time to get healthier for surgery and when the time comes you can come out swingin Girl. Jackie

Thanx, I was very upset for about a day and felt cheated. but what good does that do, so my doctor and I are all set to start with the 6 month diet plan, we both know it more then likely will not work, I've been on one diet or another for more than 25 years (just not one with the doctor), but what can you do.... I'm hoping the time will go fast, unfortunitly I live in northwestern PA and the winter here makes the days drag by (I'm hoping for an EL Nino so that we will have an easy winter instead of feeling like we're at the north pole).

Those insurance companies are tricky. I am sure you are totally disappointed, but Feb will be here soon!!! Jacque

Oh, that is MEAN! They should have told you right up front that you needed to be on a medically supervised diet for six months. I was really worried about that myself too. I had only done weigh****chers for a month, and the crappy HMO I was on before would not let my doc send me to a nutritionist or put me on OptiFast or whatever. So I was really afraid I was going to have to go through six months too. Is there any records that you have of past diets that were six months? Maybe even if it is from another doc or something. Keep your chin up! This six months will give you plenty of time to prepare. And make sure all hoops are jumped through in well enough time before your next date is booked. Leland Lap RNY 08/04/04

Hi Velvet; I feel your pain, but don't give up. I have CIGNA HMO and I started my journey June 2003 with all the required documentation including 2 past diet history and current diet with my Primary Physician. Surgery date was scheduled for February 12th. Everything was submitted in December 2003 and Cigna denied it and said the my Primary Physician did not do enough documentation on my diets. We appealed after going through another 6 months of dieting with my doctor and this time around they approved and Prasie the Lord I have a August 20th surgery date. Be encourage and know that it will work out for you. And even though there is just a little set back you will still be the Victor. I'll keep you in prayers and don't quit. Black Diamond
