I finally got my CPAP machine yesterday and turned in the loaner. The loaner I could only 2-5 hours with it and waking up about 6 times. My new machine I 7 hour with it last night and only woke up twice. I felt great today . Cindy

Cindy, What is the difference between the two? Do you have a new mask? I had a CPAP and I kept taking it off at night and I didn't even realize it. Plus I must be a little claustrophobic (sp?) because I would wake up sometimes crying because I wanted to take it off so bad. The mask just irritated my face. *~Amber~*

Amber, The difference between the two is my new machine is self ajusting. this machine was made for bariatric pt.'s .It's made by RESMED and it is called Spirit. I'm the first one to use it from my sleep lab. The humidifer works so much better. I have the same mask. It's called Orcale it is a mouth piece. It forces you to breath thru your mouth. I have to use a swimming nose clamp so that I sleep longer. I have been told that the nose pillows are good to use. You may want to change mask. Good Luck!! Cindy

Chrissy, A CPAP machine is used for sleep apnea. It keeps you breathing through the night. Cindy
