Hi! New Member
Welcome Essie:
You're in good company on this board. Everyone is so supportive. Yes I'd say we are all a little nervous. After all not only are we subjecting our bodies to this little invasion, we are also subjecting our mind to a new way of thinking.
From what I've heard from the chatrooms and from some of these threads is to bring chapstick to the hospital because you go several days withou****er through your mouth. Also take a pillow for the bumps in the road on the drive home after surgery. You can also come to the main chatroom and ask questions in CAPS. The room goes fast sometimes but the answers you get really help to calm you and give you real examples of where ppl are, pre-op, just post-op and some with years of experience.
I hope this helped.
God bless you and your recovery.
Barbara
Hi Essie,
I asked the same question. And yes we all have similar feelings. As for words of wisdom. This board is absolute wonderful. I've found that just about any question I might have has been answered here. There are people here who speak from experience and that means alot more to me than just hearing from the doctors since they have personally gone where we are headed.
As I say these words to you... I repeat them to myself. Take a deep breath and let it out slowly and think about being on the other side.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Bree
