Hello everyone...I just wanted to share a little story...Today I went in to work...I have Mondays off....and there was a message on the machine from the surgeons office...so I gave them a call back and the girl told me that they had been trying to get ahold of me on Monday because they had a cancellation for NEXT WEEK !! and they wanted to see if I wanted to move up my surgery from Aug 26...Can you imagine a whole month...whoohoo but of course as luck would have it...they never got ahold of me and the date was given to someone else.... so just my luck - I was so upset that I cried almost all day - I was okay until I saw my husband and then I broke down again. He has been trying his hardest to comfort me...Im still sad though I know that this has happened for a reason but it still hurts....am I being dumb...I mean its not like Im not going to have surgery...but heck sooner is better than later...right ???

I keep hoping and praying nothing changes with my surgery date. The surgical practice doing mine gives you a date on your first consult. Then they book all your pre-op stuff in between. Basically they do it this way to make patients NOT miss their appointments. They said if I kept all my appointments, go my medical clearance from my PCP and got my Pap Smear pathology report the date would not change. But I have this horrible fear that when I go in there some little "T" wont be crossed or some "I" won't be dotted and they will change my date. Everyone in my department has booked their vacations around my vacation so I can't move my weeks off, I would just get less recouperation time. Which I don't want!!! Deep Breath..........Everything Will go smoothly!!!!! Leland Lap RNY 08/04/04

You are absolutely right! You are going to have the surgery right? Just make sure the dr office has ALL your phone numbers in case the miracle happens twice. God bless you.

I kinda know how you feel. My date was moved back 3 days and I was upset. I told my husband, "if the had to move me, you think they'd try to move me up, not back!" He kept telling me that the day I got was such a divine plan. I have surgery on August 23rd. That is the last two weeks before school starts here, so I can easily take off from my summer rec. camp job. Vern (my hubby) asked for a week off and his boss made it so that no one in his office (small staff) can take off during that time. So he is guaranteed that time. Also, it is two weeks before he starts grad school. Then after two weeks, I can go back to work as a before and after school tutor/van driver for our church's daycare. As long as my surgeon can finish the surgery lap with no complications, I should be fine. ANYWAYS.... I still whine about not getting a sooner date. Even though this date worked out perfectly, I want this surgery yesterday!!! So I whine, too! You are not alone!!! *~Amber~*
