Pre-op testing??
I think it totally depends on your surgeon!
Som are going to order a million tests, and some are going to order the basics.
For me, I am scheduled to have mine done on 7-7.
My surgeon has requested I have an Ultrasound on my Gallbladder to determine if it needs to come out during surgery.
Then after that, I will have a chest xray. I've been told this is a standard procedure for any surgery in that area of the body.
Then I will get blood drawn for some lab work.
My surgeon wanted an EKG, however, My PCP did one in her office prior to signing my medical clearance, so I will not have to have another one.
Then, luckily for me, the dietician is right there in the same place with the medical stuff, so I will just walk down the hall to her.
Then when I am done with her, I am heading to lunch, then about a mile or so down the road to get my psych consult.
A truly monster medical day for me, But, the practice that is doing my surgery has every thing all organized and everything can be done in virutally one building so it is really conveinent!
Your surgeon may require some other testing based on your past medical history.
Good Luck!
