Hi peggy, I am on a low carb diet till my surgery! My doc requires it from the time you are approved to the time you have surgery! I can eat some carbs like wheat bread , sourdough bread ,brown rice and such just no white bread sugar and such.I have not seen the nutrionist yet so I probably will be taking vits next! He reccomends flinstones with iron for me. ttfn kristin

My Dr doesnt require you take anything beforehand but it might not be a bad idea to take a multi vitamin and maybe a bit of protien. While I havent been on any kind of diet I have really been watching the carb intake. Even lost a couple of pounds, lol. Patty

Hi there, my doctor does not require me to do any speacial diet before. The only thing I was told to keep an eye out for the carbs and the fats and I am doing that anyway....most of the time... Have a great day. Sabine

My surgeon asked me to drop 30 or 40 pounds before surgery, but didn't give me any guidelines. I have been using protein shakes in the morning. I use Unjury. It's the only one that doesn't make me gag. www.unjury.com I also take the One A Day women's vitamins. I have lost about 7 pounds, but my eating has only improved a little. *~Amber~*
