I have to pay a bundle in comparison to others so far....and its a deal cuz they screwed up when quoting to me and hospital!!--$300 deductible and then $4300.00 out of pocket max. Others where I work will now pay $1000 deduct then 50% of the surgery cost!!!!! Thy said too manypeople are having it done and it is too expensive...I work at a HOSPITAL!! and they are self insured. This is the ONLY surgery that has these rules! My surgery is Aug 4th and am getting a bit nervous after all the plannning an waiting for all of the stuff to get approved and finished--esp. with the ins hassle just before scheduling. all i know is that IT IS WORTH IT ALL TO BE SMALLER AND HEALTHIER FOR MY FAMILY AND ESPECIALLY ME!!! Good luck and prayers for safe travels for all.... Anne
I'm sorry that so many of you have to pay so mu*****anada an Rny is completely covered by our medical insurance. The only thing they will not cover for some reason is a lapband, which runs about 15 thousand here.
I do however have to pay 50.00 to the anethetists office, not sure what that is for but thats ok.

My insurance covers 90%, and the surgery is roughly $15,000. They told me I have to pay my $1,500 up front the morning of surgery, before they will even touch me.
Oh well, better than the full amount. I have heard that some people have to pay the whole amount upfront and then worry about reimbursement from the insurance companies afterwards. Yikes.
