How is everyone?/
Hi Augusters! Hope everyone is doing well. Where are you on your preop testing? How is the eating going right now?
I am done with everything in preop land that I can be done with until 2 weeks before surgery. The EGD was nothing and the drugs were fun LOL I say that because I asked my surgeon what they were doing for the weekend and started to laugh and said, well, tell me later and I was OUT! Woke up sometime later from sleeping like a baby. I remember gagging and a littlebit of vomit in my mouth from it, but that is about all I can tell you. Of course, the lovely spray ahead of time before they drug you tastes lovely.
My eating is out of control. I didn't think about it until this weekend, but I am eating like every meal is my last. I went and bought Susan Maria's book. I am going to stop with the insane eating. I was losing weight now I am holding strong and even gained a few pounds. I need to start not seeing these as my last meals but as the last time I think it takes so darn much to fill me up and satisfy me. As well as other things!
Anyway, just wanted to say hi and check in on how everyone is doing and how prep is going.
Take care and God Bless you all !
Tabitha
Tabitha:
I can totally relate to you today! I go to the Cardiologist Tuesday and would like some incite on that, and I have the EGD scheduled for Thursday. I want details on that too! It has been 10 years since I had my gallbladder removed and I am acting like a baby!!!!
Well, my eating is out of control too! I am 265 and I don't want to gain but I am like you and wanting to enjoy the crazy "fullness" I seem to think I wont have post-op! Does that make sense?
Write with any advice on your experiences with the pre-op stuff!
Jacque
Hey everyone!
I have all my pre-op stuff on July 20th. So I am glad it will all be over with in one day.
As for the eating, I have my moments of insanity (like 3 eclairs, 2 chicken biscuits and two hash brown patties washed down by a small OJ). But overall I am doing well. I have lost 7.5 pounds in the last 3 weeks. Not too shabby. My surgeon asked that I lose 30 to 40 pounds before surgery to reduce the size of my liver since I am having a lap RNY. I am trying my best!

Hello All:
Well lets see here....I am finished all my pre-op testing until my pre-surgery appt. w/the surgeon.
Soooo I am just still in the research and wait mode here......I did quit smoking as of June 2, 2004 was the last cig. Yeah, Me!
I am continuing my support group meetings 3x times a month and giving support and encourgement where needed.
I am trying like HELL to keep my weight under control.....It's hard with the quit smoking, and the nervous engery here.....
Well that all for now. Shay
Hi Tabitha,
I have completed all my necessary appts until Aug. Then I have all my pre-op (blood work, chest xray, EKG etc.) all on Aug. 9. My surgery isn't until Aug 24. I am not sure what an EGD is but I am glad I don't need one. Didn'tr sound very fun. Anyway my MD does not require any weight loss prior to surgery butI chose to pursue weight lose when I started pursuing surgery. So I was on Atkins fronm the end of January until about 3 weeks ago and then I switched to South Beach and as of Friday I have lost 40 pounds!!!! I figured if I was actually going to get approved for the surgery I had better do something to help myself or I too would have looked at every meal as the last. Congrats and good luck....
