NE considering plastic surgery these days?
Good question. Maybe you could take the "old fashioned" approach to this... make a list.
Make two columns.... pros and cons
list all the reasons why you should and want to have the plastic surgery--- and make a list under cons why you do not want to have the surgery.
Then simply compare the two. If the cons far outweigh the pros, then don't do it. If it's weighted in the pros column, then go for it!
I live with a lot of extra skin that I wish I didn't have. In a heartbeat....if my insurance would pay for it, I would have it removed. Not only would I lose the last 20 pounds that I'm lugging around....I would look so much better in my clothes, and I would just feel better in a swimsuit!
It's ultimately up to you. Don't ask your friends who have no clue what you're going through. Ask yourself and make your list....
And let us know whatever you decide! Good luck!

I had RNY surgery two years ago yesterday. On 11/29 I had a tummy tummy. I absolutely love the results. It was the best thing I could have done for myself. Unfortunately, eight days following surgery I developed a blood clot from the calf to my groin. Really scared me cuz it is the second blood clot I have had. It had been years (22 to be exact) since my first blood clot. I knew it the minute I awoke and called the Drs. office. Already had an appt. for that afternoon so I just elevated my leg and try to be as immobile as possible. After the dobler study it was confirmed, that I did indeed have another blood clot. So now I am on coumadine for life. I can live with that. no complications or side affects and it will pretty much eliminate any chance of having another clot. Did a genetic testing and found that I have the gene that is prone to blood clots, heart attacks and stroke. Yikes, good thing I didn't know about it before my surgery.
Anyway-back to the tummy tuck. I love it. It was basically painless. I've had two caesarans and the pain was pretty much the same. Had to walk bent over for 2-1/2 weeks and slept in a recliner for 30 days.
Returned to normal exercise after 8 weeks. It is wonderful.
course, it is like getting a new couch and after two weeks you decide that the walls need painted and the floors carpeted. lol
But, alas, no more surgeries for me. I would love to have my thighs done and a breast lift.
I loved my surgeon, Dr. Ronald Hollins (Omaha, NE). He was wonderful and the perfect surgeon for me. I visited two before I decided which one I wanted to go with. It was self pay, but worth every penny.
Good luck to you.
I am definitely going to have the tummy tuck due to skin rashes that constantly hinder me and are not helped with medication treatments. I know this will also change my confidence level. I feel fantastic health wise but look at my tummy and the rashes and yeast infections and am constantly fighting my body over it!
Hey there,
I know exactly what you mean about feeling healthy and not wanting to go under the knife again. I also am sick and tired of hanging skin. So I am waiting to see if I am approved for a Lower Body Lift through my insurance. I want to follow that up with an upper body lift further down the road. I feel like I have come to far to stop now. I just want to know what it feels like to wear what I want and not what hides my flaws. I think it will be worth it. I too am pretty scared about such a serious surgery.
Take Care,
Shelli
