Watch Out !

Be very careful when posting anything to this site about problems with ANYONE related to your WLS journey. I (stupidly) posted an honest perception about someone I have encountered on my journey to surgery and this person is monitoring the site and called me today to confront me and traumatize me regarding the remark. Remember, a lot of people we encounter along this road have access to our very personal information. Honesty is not the best policy. Again, be careful!

I'm a little disturbed by your situation, and here's why. First of all, if you're making it clear in your posts that the post is your OPINION, then you shouldn't have to live in fear of retaliation for your remark. Granted, sometimes our posts on here can be a bit harsh, and maybe this isn't the best forum to vent, but regardless, you shouldn't be tracked down and harassed about it. I'm hoping that this person who confronted you isn't a professional in the medical field...it would be a shame knowing there was someone in the field who misused confidential information in your file to confront you about a post on a website..which of course would be a violation of the HIPPA regulations.

Please understand this was someone in the medical profession , who yes, went on my profile, not doctors comments, but MY PROFILE, read a one line remark regarding her demeanor and called me on both my home and mobile phones. Numbers she got from my medical file. Be very careful - you never know who is poking through this (or any other)site

I'm a lot more than concerned now... I'm LIVID. What this lady has done is not only childish and petty, but it's UNETHICAL. Information contained in your medical file is there for the sole purpose of your treatment..NOT for some nurse or doctor or front desk secretary to harass you because you said something they didn't like. Period. You really should take action against this person as soon as you can. How many other patients could end up in your situation because of this lady? And don't worry about me... I've already had my surgery..and even if I hadn't, I know how to handle these types of situations. Best of luck to you!! Hang in there!

From where I come from that is harrassment and you should call her and tell her BUTT OFF if she wasnt a good doctor then she needs to know it if that is the situation. HECK tell me so I dont go to her

You need to report this so called professional AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!! She has not just stepped across the line-she has entered the land of no return. As others have said, what she has done is in MAJOR violation of the privacy act. There are serious reprocutions for this act and she should not be allowed to get away with it. Furthermore, any retaliation that may be directed you way for reporting her only means trouble for the retaliating party. Stick to your guns and do not let her get away with this...and I hope she enjoys her future flippin burgers-cause she'll loose her liscense over this!!!! Good luck!! Charla

Yes, you need to report this person.NOT a professional at all and I, personally would tell her to her face. This is a violation of a professional!!!!! We all have a right to our opinions without recourse. God bless, Frayer

I am very for you right now. Some "professionals" take their positions and privilege WAAAYYYYY to far. I don't care if you worte one line or a whole book about the individual, she had no right to call you. In one word, CHILDISH!! Make sure you repost her and be mindful of any changes that have now occured in your journey that she may directly be related to. I can tell she is petty!!
