Topic: Question?
I have a question for you all ... I had surgery on August 19 2003. I have only lost 67 pounds and I am wondering if this is normal? Can you guys give me an idea of what you eat on a normal day so I know that I am doing this right! Tina

I feel great and getting stronger all the time. My energy level is getting better too. I must keep trying to push my self on more exercizing. I still don,t like it too much. If I see more results I will hope to like it better and better. It feels so good to be such a loser!!!!!

My sister owns a salon and has given me some protein spray to use on my hair. I am 4-1/2 months out and have lost 90 lbs. and very little hair loss, but I drink protein drinks when I don't feel my intake has been adequate.

Jadyn, You need to call your dr right away and have them do a major blood work-up. My surgeon told me that I need to have between 60-80 mg of Protein daily which is very hard to keep up with. I am also having a little hair loss, not as much as yours but it does worry me. Everthing I eat and drink is chosen due to how much protein it has. Good luck to you.

Topic: My wedding dress is found!
Hi guys, Remember my problem about my wedding dress? Well, losing 60 lbs. must have really made a difference because I was able to fit into a size 16 dress and try on (without zipping it all the way up) a 12! The 60 lbs. lost made me able to shop for a dress and I found the most beautiful gown. I even like the way I look in it at a size 18, so I can only imagine how much better it will look in a smaller size in June. Thanks for all the support and encouragement. I actually feel pretty for the first time in a long time.

I am almost 5 months post-op and have lost 82 pounds, which is great. But, I have significant hair loss...or to be more precise..none! My hair has been falling out for the past 2 months, recently I woke up to a a pillow full of hair and more falling out as I was eating., I looked like a chemo patient. I know my hair isnt my life and it will come back at some point, but its very depressing. I am a military spouse, my husband is in Iraq, I am alone and I am bald ! What else can possibly happen to me! I eat my protein and take my vitamins, what else is there to do, and why is it falling out so significantly?

I can sympathize. I'm down 125 lbs and my energy is up and I feel great. But I'm starting to get thin on the top as well. I know allot of people who have had this surgery and they all tell me it will come back. I've trusted them so far and I haven't been diappointed with the results.

Topic: RE: WL slow down
Even with WLS we each loose weight at a different rate. I had my surgery on 08/21 and I am down 125 lbs. I weighed 396 lbs to start. I had been loosing about 10 lbs a week but now I'm not loosing every week now, but it seems the weight is coming off in spurts. My doctor has told me that as my weight goes down, my body must adjust. I'm still loosing weight. It sounds like you are doing what you should be doing. Get your water everyday, and exercise atleast 20 minutes every day. I walk at least 2 miles a day.
