Staying on top of your B-12 will help with a lot of your symptoms. I was having some of your symptoms-light headed, unable to concentrate, headaches, fatigue. I started keeping up with my B-12 injections and I no longer have those issues. I go to the doctor every month for the shot...in addition to the B-12 I get in my daily supplements. Have you been tested for diabetes? I hope you start to feel better soon!!!

Help!!! I have been having multiple symptoms and not sure whats going on and neither are the doctors. My anni date is Aug 2003, I done very well at first and lost 135 lbs. Now I have gained around 80 lbs in a year and having other health problems. I stopped lexapro a week ago and have lost 9 lbs, but I have been having alot of unexplained problems even before stopping the lexapro which more than likely are somehow linked to rny. So I thought I would come straight to the experts and see what you think. Symptoms: Very light headed-like never before(fell after standing last night) fatigue right side pain(docs say possibly liver problems) chills with no fever bad sudden headache some confusion and or having to think a little harder about things to figure it out unexplained weight gain but lost 9 lbs in a week(not complaining about that part) hypoglycemic(insulin resistance) alkaline phos- high folate serum-high B-12- low(290) Has anyone out there had some of these or all of these symptoms and figured it out what the problem is. I know that low B-12 can cause alot of these problems but with my blood work being off I am not sure if thats the whole picture. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated I'm totally lost with this. Thanks to the experts out there!!! J Sweet

Topic: RE: A new kind of gas?
Hi, Thanks for the response. It was nice to hear from someone after such a long time. I wrote that posting in 2004. I tend to leave the starchy carbs alone and the noise miraculously went away! I am now 3 years out and lost 120 lbs. Would really like to lose another 20 lbs to get to my own goal, but if this is it, then I am in heaven. I workout a lot and mostly eat right. The journey itself has been a really wonderful experience. Thanks again for reminding me that I have a community here that I need to check on more often. Bee

It's the carbs - they start digesting in spit (in mouth), so that when the hit your gut, they start to be absorbed. This causes a flood of gastric juices to be released. Protein and low carb veggies need to be digested in the stomach . . . we don't do that, so the gut doesn't "see" them, at least not before the Y connection. If at all. When you're concerned about being quiet, stay outta the carbs. You'll produce less *music and flowers*. Oh, BTW, I'm also 5'10", and it took me 1.5 years to lose 150. Getting to goal in 1 year is not anything to worry about.

Topic: RE: Dizzy~ Anyone get dizzy when bending over and back up?
Why do you think salt is a bad thing? You need some . . . and I seriously doubt that you get *enough*. And the salt craving *could* be anemia, which migh cause dizziness. But the two symptoms could also mean dehydration (which can cause low blood pressure = dizzy). Drink more clean, clear water. And have an iron panel drawn. Meanwhile, don't fall.

Topic: RE: I hate food!
I could care less about eating meals. Unfortunately, since I don't get hungry that often I am just as content with some crackers or chips as I am with food. My biggest evil behavior is chips and diet soda. Think I would have learned. But I don't gain at all, never had a weight gain in over a year since I stabilized. But that is no excuse. I must vow to start eating real food. Yuck. A pack of cheese/peanut butter crackers and diet mt.dew does not equal a meal. Maybe if I throw in a slim jim for protein? Stacie in NC

I have never posted here before. But after reading some of the posts, I thought I would give it a try. I had my surgery 08/03 starting at 267, but that was not my heaviest. I am now down to 130, depending on what time of the month it is, I can go to 134 . I do feel that I tend to beat my self up sometimes, so I do not weigh myself as much as I had. We are only human. I take it one day at a time. That is the best we can all do for ourselves. I noticed the post on Alcohol. OMG..I drink maybe once every 3 months or so. My husband has had the surgery too , so when we do go out and dance, my alcohol is limited. At first, I thought I could drink the same as I had before, but boy did I prove myself wrong. I really enjoy reading about everyones experiences, and to see that we are all experiencing the same things. Please, go to my profile, I have just gotten a before and after shot there. It is worth the smile. Good luck to you all.... Crystal

Topic: RE: I'm finally pregnant!!!
Cindy, I have been grazing way to much, even sugary foods. That 1st day that I tried sugar after surgery and didn't dump, I knew I was going to be in trouble. I originally only lost 110 lbs from 288 (surgery was 7/03), then I got pregnant and had my little Leigh Ann June '05 and kept 7 of those lbs on and now I am pregnant again (7 wks 1 day). I am having problems right now and I don't know if it is because of my tummy, or I have the flu or its just the pregnancy thing. I stay cold, extremely tired, dizzy at times and when I drink or eat something I feel it going down and it feels like it ha**** bottom with a painful feeling. I wish I could describe it more. I am really nervous about it. Well, anyway, have you experienced any of these symptoms? Thanks, Lillie
