I'll be six months post op on Thursday and I too have lost 80 lbs. I have to say, I couldn't have done it w/out surgery.

Glade you are feeling better... I went though the same thing.. I just went to the doc and only lost 1 lb. And they did the BMI thing and came back and said don't worry you might have just lost 1lb but you have really lost 5 lbs of fat and gain a 1 in musle.. So I was ok with it.. I am still wanting to lose about another 30 lbs tho... Best wish's... Hope to see you on some... DonnaR 225-165sh-135sh

I was feeling a bit depressed at my weight loss amount. I then came to this message board and you all made me feel so much better. I am 6 months post op and have lost between 80-81 pounds. My scale has barely moved in the past month but after reading your post I realize that maybe this is normal. I am walking/riding my bike daily so I am hopefully gaining muscle and not fat. Tina

I had the same problem as you! I now get B12 shots monthly. I take Iron from Hi-Health. If you get iron make sure you get some with back strapp molassas (? spelling). This will help to make sure your plumbing works daily! I have been taking my iron daily and getting my B12 shot monthly and my results just came back normal. Good luck!

I too have lost alot of hair and worried the same about going bald. I started using Nioxin shampoo and conditioner. You can purchase it at most beauty salons. It has really helped me. My hair has started coming back in now and is starting to look fuller. The shampoo helps but it takes time .I've been using it for about 2 months now. Congrats on your weight lose! Great job Johnna -111 lbs since Aug 6, 2003

Good Morning and Congrats on the 6 months milestone; regarding hair losssimilar to comments made by Donna R; my wife who had the surgery in July(has lost god bless her 100 lbs) also was losing hair at almost equal rate as weight!!! I had to "snake" the shower drain 3 times in seven months and each time pull out clumps that resembled small drowned rats Now seven months how the hair loss has tapered off and hair is growing back at a normal pace and brushs don't have clumps of hair anymore Keep up the protein intake and you'll do just great And know people THAT REALLY MATTER the very most to you will be most concerned with how wonderful the NEW YOU looks; and not some hair style Anybody else are just "petty insignifcant dolts" that don't have the "brass ones" it takes to go through what you have to get to this point That's a fact You Go Girl!!!! 6 months and 100 lbs post op! YOU ROCK !!!!!!!! George Revoir (6 months and 120 pounds post op http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/profile.phtml?N=R1038325237&NoStatic=1)
