Sounds awful! I'm glad to say I've not experienced anything like that. Good luck! Terri

I'm down 99 pounds since surgery, but started at 355! I still have 100 pounds to go. You guys all sound like you're doing great. I was told to expect to lose 50% of my excess weight, so according to the Doc I'm on target, but compared to so many others I'm not doing so well. I've really slowed since mid January, losing only about 10 pounds since then. I exercise regularly at a gym, have a bicycle, swim, etc. I do notice that I've been eating more sweets and really need to start hitting the veggies. By the time I get my protein, though, I don't have room for veggies. I need to work on that. I've also cut back on my water consumption, though it is still just about the only thing I drink. Guess I'll do a week's worth of food log and see where I'm going wrong. Hang in there everyone! (And happy 8 month anniversary!) Terri

Just a Ditto here. Last month lost 10 lbs then overnite went back up 8 lbs. It freaked me out. I thought my scales were broken and checked on the doctor's scales to make sure. I lost 2 lbs and 2 inches TOTAL last month. If it makes you feel better, it might not be a Carb thing. It might just be how some people's bodies try to stay at a "set point" (you know, some weight you've been before and your body says "hey, I remember this weight, I think I'll stay here for a while") At least that's what I'm telling myself - I'm not having a problem with Carbs, although my appetite did increase at 6 months - but from what I've read that's right on schedule. I know I didn't eat anything that made me gain 8 lbs (that's 28,000 extra calories - not happening). My body has just not wanted to leave the 200s, but it will. I think you're doing the right thing tracking on Fit Day and catching the Carb thing now. Good Luck & God Bless. Deb

Topic: 8th month anniversary
Hiya Gang, This weekend was my 8 month anniversary and I have lost 116 lbs. I still have 37 more to go but it seems like its not gonna budge. I think the closer you get to goal the harder it is to lose. I'm not complaining tho because at the time of surgery I was 308 and I am now 192....I feel alot better, just wish the weight would start coming off . Any suggestions? Take care all and god bless Gerri

Topic: Feeling Awesome!!!
Since my surgery in August, I feel 150% better. I went through the surgery with no post op complications and no issues at all. I have been consistently losing my weight while increasing my exercise. I have lost 78 pounds to date and although I continue to lose, my pace has slowed down now that I am about 25-30 pounds from my goal. I have increased my exercise my joining Curves over a month ago and what a difference that has made. I am losing inches and weight and see changes in my body after 1 month. I feel great and have so much more energy. I have been lucky, I don't have problems with eating particular foods although I can't seem to eat corned beef, one of my favorites. I guess the meat is too 'fatty' for my stomach which is fine. Outside of that, I can't much tomato sauce like spagetti, can only have very small amounts at a time, which is typical for me anyways so no harm done. Anyone that is considering this surgery and having second thoughts, I can't tell you how happy I am and how much of a good decision this was for me. I know everyone is different but for me, it was the right decision and I would do it over again in a heart-beat.

Topic: Happy Birthday to Me!
Hi everybody. Tomorrow is my 26th birthday and this surgery has changed my life. I still have at least 30 lbs. to lose, but my 94 lb. weight loss since 8/26 has made me a different person. I've gone from 266 lbs. to 172. I am still overweight, but have noticed that people look at me differently. Guys actually look twice at me at the hospital where I am a social worker. It's almost intimidating. My wedding is less than 2 months away and I am so excited to wear my beautiful strapless dress. I will have to post before and after pics and wedding pics for you all. Thanks for letting me tell my story....

Hi, Thanks to everyone for the responses. I guess I just have been feeling a little embarassed by a subject that's very personal. People I barely know want to talk about how much weight I've lost. (Usually say "a bunch"). And its true I also have received the "Oh you took the easy way out responses from 2 dear friends. So, I guess for now I'm gonna play it close to the chest. Also, started running. That's a great excuse. Have a great Day!!

I so agree with both of you I started out at 273 and I'm now 197 well, one day 197 and another day 200. Therefore, I've only loss about 73 or 76 lbs. and my surgery was 8/28. I'll be at 8 months on the 28th of this month. And I agree I too snack on chips all day and eat sweets, and fast foods, sometimes. Kathy it sounds like we're doing the same bad things. I will take control though. If I don't loose at least 100 lbs by my year anniversary I will be truly disappointed in myself and depressed. I'm not drinking my water as much either. We recently adopted a baby boy and my main problem before surgery was eating when I was happy. I've always been opposite of a lot of people who eat when depressed. This surgery is TRULY A TOOL and if you don't work it as you should boy, do you pay. Hopefully, all will be well with all of us. God Bless!!!

I agree with you on that... I too have lost only 70 lbs and think I should be less. My Dr says the same thing, That I am a light weight. I dont think I am I was 247 lbs before surgery and now weigh 177 lbs and am only 5 ft 1 inch tall and will be 49 this month. would like to be at 150 lb soon Hope I will. Guess I shoud not complain This loss so far has help me sooooooooooo much health wise. I thank God for it every day... But in the back of my mind I wish I would lose have been stuck between 177 and 179 for 2 months now which is my own fault I just had to be with my daughter she had my first grandson and I have been almost living at her house and I cook every day or we order out those high carb foods man no wonder I am not losing. I had a wake up call this morning no more carbs i went back on my protein shakes will do them 2 times a day and eat a lo carb meal for supper and no snacking at all which is my big problem. and water, water, water, I hope the best for you. it is so easy now to get back into those old habits like we had before this surgery. God Help me...
