Topic: 9mths today and feeling great :)
Today is my 9th month and I am now 142.2 lbs. I've lost 5 pounds this mnth..Im sure its due to watching my carbs again which I started back up 3 weeks ago. I also get more excercise in. I was having a hard time of it for a good many weeks.
I now average 845cals 37g fat 31g of Carbs and 68g of Protein..I try 2 get in 64 oz of h20 and I take all my vits..On most days.
I am now the "average American Wt for a person of my age (37 or 38 LOL) and height (5'2) which is 144lbs.According 2 Expectations & Charting.com
I cannot weight to join that GREAT CLUB three more pounds 2 go...I pray that I hit it in the next couple of weeks.but two mnths ago I said the same and it didn't happen.
Have a great day

Topic: RE: juice????
Hi Debbie
I just started drinking juice....That diet V8 Splash is really good.
It's 10 cal./ 8oz., has vitamins, and it sweetened w/ Splenda.
My kids love it!
I wouldn't even bother w/ Juicy Juice....too many cals and sugar!
Just my opinion

Gina -
I felt like I was reading my own post. I too started at 235. (My highest before surgery weight was 248) I had my surgery 8/27/03. I lost 88 pounds. I now weigh 160 and would like to get to 140. I've sort of stopped for the last month. No gain but no loss. I have'nt walked like I had been. I only like outdoor walking and the weather is just getting back to good walking weather. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you I think we've both done just great. Our other 20 will come. Good luck to you. Email me if you'd like to discuss anything.

I think I am in the same boat with you I have lost 80 lbs since August and scared I have not lost any in 2 month's. I dont go over 1200 cal a day and drink a protein shake everyday for breakfast and drink my water and exercise too what gives is the Honeymoon over as they say.... I heard after 6 months we lose 2 lbs a month I have 10 lbs to goal Hope I make it by my anniversary aug 13th. which will be 155 lbs might want to lose a few more. Naw I am healthy now thats what counts. I feel wonderful. and I have cheated along the way Well I did not have brain surgery? But thank goodness I cant eat sugar and fried foods anymore they make me dump... But love popcorn and fritos and corn curls wonder why they are fried why dont I get sick from them... I try and write down everything I eat everyday it really helps and I am surprized to see I never eat over the 1200 cal- mark in fact most of the time I eat under that.if you figure this out let me know....

Hi Tina. As far as what I eat, at least lately, you don't want to know. I have been eating horribly. I had my RNY on 8/26 and have lost 96 lbs., but have been on a plateau for about 2 weeks. However, I know that it has been my own fault. I've heard that this is common at this stage in the game. I've been teeter tottering between 170 and 171 for two weeks. It's so frustrating!!! My wedding is 6 weeks away!
Topic: Question?
Hello!
I have a question for all of you? I had my RYN on 08-19-03. I have went from 263 to 172. The past 2 months I have only lost a total of 9 pounds, and so far nothing this month (from April 19 to today). I have acutally gained 2 pounds. Not sure if that is due to lifting weights and doing toning to help my skin or if it is just being a woman and getting to be around that time of month. Regardless I am scared to death ... I don't want to fail ... I don't want to be 263 pounds ever again.
I am worried that I either don't eat enough or eat to much ... can you give me an idea of what you eat on a daily basis and how many calories you take in? And how many carbs? Or any suggestions you can give me.
Thanks,
Tina

Congratulations!
I had my surgery a little B4 you - August 1, 2003. I've lost 108 lbs - from a 28/30 to now a 14/16. (From 305 to 197) It is TOTALLY amazing, isn't it?
I just walked briskly up 2 flights of stairs here at work - that would have been IMPOSSIBLE last year this time.
I also have a friend here at work who is in preop workup and am glad I can support him as he makes this journey.
I still like to eat and sometimes think I'm eating more than I should, especially b/c I don't dump sugar...but still I'm eating WAY less than I used to. I won't ever wear a bikini (I'm too old and flabby!!) but I'm happy in my size 16 tank suit I got this year and even tho I'm 52 I think I finally like what I see when I look in the mirror.
Thanks for the chance to remember and record all the good things I'm experiencing!!

I still can not tolerate OJ straight. I either add H2O, or stick with the Tropicana light OJ, or V8. Jg

Hey everyone!! Life is great, isn't it! I am 8 months out (08/27/03) and have lost 115 pounds. I've gone from a 22/24 to a 10/12. I do so many things that I would never have dreamed of 1 year ago. I'm full of energy and active every day. I workout 3-4 times a week and am always on the move. My life has changed so much that I don't even know who the old me was. She is a stranger now.
I'm thankful every day that I made the decision to do this, and I am now an Angel to 4 people at work who are in the process of pursuing surgery. Actually 1 down, 3 more to go. I'm glad that I can be helpful to those who decide to take this journey. I've made 5 best friends from my Support Group who are now like sisters to me.
When I look back on the last 8 months, it has flown by and all those weeks of losing has added up. Food is no longer my main focus in life, but I still love to cook and bake which is weird. I have trouble eating the more solid foods, but I can live with the things that I can eat, so I don't stress about it. I look great and feel great, and I am actually wearing a bikini for the first time in 20 years.
Let me know what your happiest moments have been in your journey.
