hi jane, my name is patricia and i also have a surgery date on August 12th, i am soooooooo excited, i am counting down the weeks, exactly (7) from today. i am having mine (Lap) in Nashville, Tn. with Dr. William Richards. i go this Thursday for my (first) nutritional meeting which i am looking forward to. Dr. Richards requires all of his patients to go through (4) of these meetings. (2) before surgery and (2) after surgery to teach you how to eat with your new stomach. it,s a $250.00 out of pocket expense but i,m sure it,s well worth it. hi, Nancy my name is Patricia and my Surgery is Aug-12. right now i am sooooo excited about this surgery, i am looking forward to a new life and getting back in to a smaller size and just being able to breathe normally again. but i figure the closer Aug-12 gets here the anxiety will really kick in, i think that,s normal. you really need your husband,s support but don,t let him talk you out of it or discourage you if this is what (YOU) want. apparently he dosen,t know what it,s like to be heavy. you are doing this for yourself. i will pray that (GOD) will calm your nerves and give you "peace" about your decision to have this done. i really feel like everything will go just fine for you and you will be so glad you did it. i wish you all the best and i pray that you have a speedy recovery. Hello, My name is Georgia. I am scheduled to have surgery on the 18th of August, 2003. I am very excited, and also a little nervous. I live in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. McGuire is performing my surgery at Kettering Memorial Hospital. So far, everything has been a breeze. The surgical meeting to explain the procedures. The gathering of information for my insurance company. The authorization letter for the surgery was sent within two weeks of applying. The surgical assistant called to confirm and arrange my date of surgery. Now I am waiting for the appointment with Dr. McGuire on August 8th.
