That's the same day that I am having my surgery...Less than 2 weeks left. JOY

I am from Iowa but will be going to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, for my surgery. I had an open VBG done three years ago - a failed procedure, lacerated esophogus, blood clots in my lung, internal bleeding - nearly died - but ready to try again!! This time I will have this done where I feel I will get the BEST possible care. I feel so lucky to be able to have this done when I was told that because of the mess my insides are in, I would never be able to have another surgery for weight loss. Thank God for the DS - they can stay away from the area where things are a mess and still give me the best procedure there is for weight loss! I would love to hear from anyone that has had the DS, like what to expect after surgery. We all should be feeling great by Christmas - and really seeing results! It will be great!!

My date is the 26th also! Seems very far away right now. I go for the pre-op and consultation with my surgeon on Monday - so maybe when I get a definite GO at that time, I will feel more like doing the count-down. I'm a little worried about the fact that I didn't follow through with the psych. like they wanted me to do, but guess time will tell. Did you have to lose weight before they would do your surgery? I have to weigh less than I did when I started this whole thing - and that may be close, too. So I'm trying to really watch it until Monday. Just think where we'll be by Christmas!! Hello, I got a date today. My date is August 8,. I will be having surgery at St. Margarets Hospital, in Hammond , In. Dr. Henrique Scott will be doing an open rny. I am 56 yrs. old, and have been heavy all my life. It is really going to be exciting to go through this journey. To get below 200# will be a dream come true. I now weight 318, and have not weight under 200# since i was 18,. Good luck to all of you on this message board, I will keep you informed on how I am doing . Please share your info with me too. I think it will help all of us.

WHEW-WHOOO Dr's office called today, surgery is for August 7th!!! Iam so exicted and cant wait.
