shingles

anyone ever had shingles? i started off friday with an ear ache and what i thought was a small pimple in my ear by sunday the ear ache was so bad i couldnt stand it anymore, woke up tuesday the glands and lymph nodes in my neck were swollen. they sent me to an ear nose and throat specialist and he said he thinks it may be shingles but i dont have the rash that it common with shingles. i also have a kind of numb feeling in my tounge with a sore throat. . has anyone had anything like this happen

4/28/04 I was told today that I have them too. I started out with a lump on my fore head and the whole side of my left face is numb feeling and my ear and glands are so swollen. I have been in so much pain today. So I know what you have been though.

sorry you are not feeling well either i am finally getting better the numbness is still there but not as bad. the swollen glands pressed on a facial nerve and gave me bells palsy so i have had to tape my eye shot put artificial tears in them. make sure o your dr. puts you on an anti viral like zovirax and a medrol dose pack i felt so much better after starting those
