To you post ops who are about 6 months out and over 100 pounds down, I have a question: I have not worried about my hair loss yet but I am really starting to wonder if I will be completely bald before this hair loss slows down. It seems that the clump of hair I lose every morning is less than last month, but for the first time in my life I can see my scalp clearly from the front to the back of my head and I cannot wear my hair in a part. There are some pretty big gaps between hair follicles. I do have a lot of new growth, but when does the fullness start coming back? Assume that I am getting the proper nutrients and supplements. Experiences, anyone? Again, I understand that hair loss is normal. I am wanting to know when it goes back the other direction. Thanks for any insights.

Hey, I am not -100 lbs.. But I am 6 months out and my hair lose was really bad from 3 to 5 1/2 months.. It has slowed down a lot now. But I did cut it off last month so I don't know if that help it or not.. My bangs you can see scalp. IF I wear my hair up when I pull it back down I have ton's of hair on my band.. And my hubby thinks I am trying to break the drian in the shower and sink from all my lost hair. And my 3 year old thought that when I clean out the hair bursh and toss the hair in the trash that there was a cat in the trash.. I hope your slows down for you soon too.. Best wish's.. Congrats on -100.... DonnaR 225-165-135sh

Good Morning and Congrats on the 6 months milestone; regarding hair losssimilar to comments made by Donna R; my wife who had the surgery in July(has lost god bless her 100 lbs) also was losing hair at almost equal rate as weight!!! I had to "snake" the shower drain 3 times in seven months and each time pull out clumps that resembled small drowned rats Now seven months how the hair loss has tapered off and hair is growing back at a normal pace and brushs don't have clumps of hair anymore Keep up the protein intake and you'll do just great And know people THAT REALLY MATTER the very most to you will be most concerned with how wonderful the NEW YOU looks; and not some hair style Anybody else are just "petty insignifcant dolts" that don't have the "brass ones" it takes to go through what you have to get to this point That's a fact You Go Girl!!!! 6 months and 100 lbs post op! I too have lost alot of hair and worried the same about going bald. I started using Nioxin shampoo and conditioner. You can purchase it at most beauty salons. It has really helped me. My hair has started coming back in now and is starting to look fuller. The shampoo helps but it takes time .I've been using it for about 2 months now. Congrats on your weight lose! Great job Johnna -111 lbs since Aug 6, 2003

Georgine, I have been taking Biotin 2500 from GNC and I have seen a lot of new hair growth. It took about 3 weeks for me to start seeing the hair grow back. The good thing is that GNC has a 30-day money back policy. But I take it and so does a friend of mine and it has helped both of us. Best of luck.
