WHAT DO YOU EAT
I had my rny 8/13/03 I don't weigh ofter but at last count i was down about 55lbs. I am still struggling with getting in enough protein although i am getting better.and really struggling to get in enough fluids, fruits and veggies. My question is what kinds of things do you eat in a typical day.. really need the help
You're doing terrific Tracy. I had Lap RNY 8-8-03 and have lost 49#. I've been stuck at 218# for 2 weeks now. Typically I eat yogurt, cheese, deli sliced lunch meat (roast beef or turkey breast), chicken, shrimp, beef jerky, Joyride bar, UTurn bar or a Oneway bar, peanuts and lots of iced tea. I don't eat bread, pasta or rice and avoid most carbs and most veggies. I had a bite of broccoli and califlower earlier this week and ended up puking for 20minutes. I'm trying to get my protein in by eating regular foods instead of relying on protein shakes. Today at lunch I had 3 scallops and 1/2c split pea soup and one of them made me feel ill for about an hour. I don't really eat set "meals", I'm more of a nibbler except for lunch. I eat lunch and have 4 snacks the rest of the day.
my tipical day is: Breakfast 20oz protien shake made of 8oz skim milk 12 oz water using carbsolutions protien powder with added ice to make it really cold. (that way I get probably 16oz of water in) I cannot tolerate food first thing in the am. another 20 oz of water Lunch 1/2 of the small single serve tuna fish with FF miricle whip and a few chunks of colby cheese on 2 crackers.
Supper is 1/3 to 1/4 chicken breast with a little lettuce, tomato and FF ranch dressing on the side.another 20 oz of water if not more Snack 1/2 c yougurt with some fruit. I also will have a V8 dring the day to get the veggies in and it counts as water too. sometimes FF refried beans with a litte sour cream and salsa and cheese is lunch or supper. sometimes chili (vegitarian and fat free of course) sometimes soup is supper (chicken &veggies)
Good luck
You sound like you are having a hard time with finding things that are going to work for you. I was in the same boat and then found that if I start the day with a high protien bar (Zone or Balance Gold are my favorites)and at least 16oz of H2O first thing in the morning, I had the energy to do something with my day. I have also found that I cannot eat any dry/stringy meat. I can eat about 1 square centimeter of beef and after that I'm going to pay a big price. I'm best with dairy protien so it's cheese, cottage cheese and yogurt for me. Tomato soup made with milk is also helpful. Good luck and keep up the good work.
