hi everyone! ok,,im a little disappointed,,i read so many posts that ppl say they've lost 15+ lbs in the first week,,my measly -4 almost seems like a failure. I'm walking and not cheating,,is there anyone else out there that doesn't lose that much the first week? Sorry, don't mean to whine and congrats to those that have lost that much,,i am very happy for you!!

Denise I checked in to post this exact question. I have lost a little more then you 12lbs in 2 weeks ( 6 lbs a week ) but I was expecting to lose at least 15lbs after reading others stories also. I have been eating just 3 meals a day. I get full before I even eat 1/4th of a cup of food. I have been walking 2x a day for 2o minutes each time. I am getting frustrated. i know they say each person is different but I was really hoping to lose the weight faster. It is hard enough not being able to eat the foods that you want but then when you are not losing weight it gets extremely frustrating. I haven't lost anything in the last 2 days. I am hoping it begins to come off quicker but right now I am beginning to wonder why I did this if it is not going to work. When did you have your surgery? Jennifer

nobody should sweat--you are so full of fluids from the surgery and teh IV and everybody drops those at different rates. That initial loss is a lot of water anyway, but it will come!!!! Sometimes in inches not lbs.

Keep in mind that your first week you actually had gained weight from the iv's in the hospital. I had gained 5 lbs. total on the day I was dismissed from the hospital. On my 1st week I had lost 12 lbs. Keep in mind however that 5 of that was liquid from the iv's. This Thursday, Sept. 4 will be 1 month post op and according to my scales I've lost a total of 27 lbs. so far. I wouldn't worry if it's not coming off as fast as you expected. As long as it's coming off that's the main thing. Keep up the good work.

I had surgery on the 19th and have lost 13.5 pounds. I too am asking myself if I am doing anything wrong? I have followed the diet exactly without cheating. The only thing I lack in walking 20-40 minutes a day becuase I can not drive. I do go shopping which is the only walking I really get. I hope that when I get back to my own house I will start walking on my treadmill. I think everyone looses weight in different stages. I have also been told the heavier you are the faster you loose. Hope this helps!

Thank you all so much, I do hope that's the case. I need to learn patience along with my new eating habits. Think the eating habit is going to come easier!! haha Thank you all again!

Hi Denise. I just wanted to share some info with you. I lost about 15lbs my first week post. I only contribute it to being on clear liquids. I had the lapband and for 3 weeks i cant have any solid foods. I think anybody doing clear liquids for 2 weeks would drop. I had the lapband and im sure the weightloss will eventually slow to the normal weight 2-5lbs a week when i start eating soft foods. Dont get discouraged if you had the lapband then your right on target. Take care and dont give up............Tracey
