Pain meds question?My RNY surgery date is August 19

I am getting nervous and worrying about the pain. I don't take narcotic pain meds because I've had bad reactions to them. I have had good luck with Toradol, but usually it is only given for a few days. Anyone have any comments?

Nell, I took pain meds in the hospital right after surgery by doctors orders. When I went home I never took any pain meds at all. (I have the meds but I had NO PAIN!) I was a little sore but that was about it. Hopefully you will have the same reaction. Good luck B
