Rebirth on Aug. 19

Hello all. I am 26, 5'10 and 340 (I think because I've been eating a lot of last meals lately...lol). My date is Aug. 19 for LAP RNY (micropouch), and I can't believe it is here. Although it didn't take me long at all to get approval, I have been contemplating about this surgery for so long that is almost surreal that I'm really doing it. I have no children, never had a broke bone and have never been under anthesthia - so I'm a nervous wreck in some ways. I'm more concerned with the pre-op testing pain and post-op pain than anything. (I'm a big wimp when it comes to prolonging things because I fear the pain - i.e. getting shots, dentist, etc.) But, with some concern from my family and friends, I am finally doing it. It is almost here and I'm still in shock. My fellow Aug. 19 dates and even all others, please stop by my page and I promise to return the love and good wish. Lissa congratulations on your date!!! Pre-op was easy for me. Nothing to it just give some blood and an ekg. Ask any questions you might have. Anyway best of luck and I'm sure you will do fine. Getting this far was such a journey. Just keep thinking of how fabulous you'll look next year.

Hey Lissa, I totally hear you on the last suppers! I am 5'10 and 326 and will probably be about 335 by the time my surgery date comes on August 20. The pre-op tests were a breeze. I have not had the upper gi yet, that won't be until next thursday, but everything else was painless. As I understand the upper gi is done while you are sedated, so you will be fine.
